Stainless steel is a very broad group of metals. It is a generic term for steel alloys with a minimum of 10.5% chromium, which gives the steel its stainless properties, corrosion resistance. In general, a basic stainless steel has a structure and is magnetic. The most common Stainless steels have a high chromium and nickel content, and it is the nickel which modifies the physical structure of the steel and makes it Non-Magnetic.
